Chapter 1: Day 2: Enemies/Pining

Chapter Text

It was the middle of the night and everyone in the hotel was either asleep in their beds or in their rooms trying to sleep. One such person was Lucifer. He was lying on his large bed, somewhere to his left was a stuffed duck, a gift from Charlie when he moved into the hotel permanently after the battle. He was lying uncovered because he was extremely hot, his arm was under his head, one leg was slightly bent. He was only wearing duckies shorts (a gift from Angel). He stared at the ceiling and thought.

His feelings for Alastor were certain. He was head over heels saving that bastard from death. Not everyone can sacrifice themselves for strangers, and even though Alastor knew he had no chance against Adam, he still fought. And he almost died if not for Lucifer's help. The King of Hell only did it for Charlie's sake. She wouldn't forgive him if something happened to the Radio Demon. He hated him with all his heart, but that didn't stop his heart from beating faster when Alastor woke up after a night of treatment and said that if he had to, he would do it again.

Lucifer then looked at him and realized that maybe he didn't hate him that much after all. He then became frightened by his thoughts and spent the evening in his room. Now, as he lay in his room, he knew that returning to hatred would be very difficult. Especially since Alastor was still nice to his daughter. In less than a year, he had done more than Lilith or Lucifer himself. And although Devil suspects that he's not doing it entirely out of pure heart, he can't stop thinking about the Demon. Especially since Angel keeps trying to hit on Alastor.

It doesn't help you not to think about what the Radio Demon looks like. Yes, Lucifer was aware that Alastor was attractive. Lucifer wasn't blind, and he wondered many times why the demon was single. When he accidentally heard that Alastor was asexual, he broke down, although he didn't know why at the time. Only a long shower made him realize that he liked Alastor. And it's not just about appearance, but also character. Of course, they argue almost all the time, but these are just meaningless words.

At least for Lucifer.

He turned to his side and looked at the unfinished project on his desk. A yellow ducky wearing Alastor's clothes. He was currently working on his hair, but he still couldn't style it right. He started making it moments after he saved a sinner's life from hell. It was a while ago, he only stopped for a moment when he realized he had a crush on Alastor. He started again when he accepted his feelings. He said, what's the harm? In the best case scenario, the Demon will accept his gift, and they won't talk about it again. Worst case scenario, he'll throw away the gift and forever remind Lucifer how pathetic he is, thinking he would want anything from him.

Lucifer turned away from the duckling and towards the balcony. He won't be sleeping anytime soon anyway. Maybe he should get tired and it will be easier. He got out of bed and stretched out. His back felt nice and he smiled. He moved towards the exit outside. He decided not to dress up, no one would see from above that it was him. A tail appeared as he opened the door. Standing on the balcony, he took a deep breath and took a step forward. He felt the air as he quickly began to fall. He smiled and closed his eyes as he turned his head down. A moment before he hit the ground, he spread his wings and let the wind carry him away.

Alastor watched the risky jump from the balcony of his room. His radio tower connected to his room, where he spent his nights, although he very rarely slept. Lately, it was a fallen angel flying upwards that was disturbing his sleep. Ever since Lucifer moved into the hotel, he had done nothing but make Alastor's life miserable. They argued constantly, which always made Charlie sad. It wasn't the radio demon's fault that her father was an idiot. And this was supposed to be the King of Hell!

Alastor shook his head and returned to the room. He was in the shirt and pants he wore during the day. He knew he wouldn't fall asleep anyway, so he didn't even change into his pajamas. He sat down by the fireplace and summoned his shadow, which poured him a glass of whiskey. He looked into the blazing fire and took a sip of the burning alcohol.

Today, he met Rosie and didn't like what she said. What he feels for the devil is definitely not love. He never loved anyone except his mother. He doesn't even feel that way about Rosie. And even more so to the little king who keeps introducing him to these strange feelings.

Alastor felt himself blushing. Here we go again! When he has sat down and relaxed, his thoughts must immediately turn to the fallen angel. He understood thinking about him during the day, when Lucifer was always there with him, screaming at each other in the hallway. As they stare at each other across the room, giving each other angry looks. As Alastor looks at the light reflecting in the Devil's hair. Watching him shamelessly flirt with Angel Dust. He would then walk out of the hall angrily, only for Angel to catch him later and tell him that he hadn't slept with Lucifer at all and that Alastor didn't have to worry about his friend with benefits' loyalty.

He didn't know what it meant exactly at the time, but Rosie explained it to him. He didn't want to know this, and at the next opportunity he would have to explain to Angel that there was no such relationship between them. Although thinking about it makes Alastor's heart warm.

He looked towards the balcony. But would it be so bad to love this self-righteous idiot? Apparently being in a relationship is fun. Alastor had never been to one, and from the stories he'd never liked it. But Lucifer is not an ordinary man either. Maybe the relationship with him is not usual? And isn't it boring? Maybe Alastor could live his second life with him?

He shook off his thoughts and drank the rest of the alcohol. Even if, he never stands a chance against the King. Especially if he is bound by a contract with the king's wife. He looked towards the balcony one last time and saw Lucifer landing on the balcony. He should probably go to bed too.
