Chapter Text
So far, Jake managed to come across two more survivors. Cheryl Mason and Laurie Strode. Unfortunately, the fourth member remains missing throughout the trial. Leaving the escapees confused and despair. It is not enough to go against that goddamn Executioner if they are going to be honest. Pyramid Head is one of the hardest nemesis to escape from, maybe near impossible. From receiving damages to being slowly tormented just for fun. So far, they only activated two generators out of five. Missing one teammate causes the trial to be dragged on to their dismay. Even suffers from intense loss, such as the last one to be alive.
Currently, Jake is hiding behind the locker with a hand gripping his bleeding sides. His respiration is heavy and is filled with unspeakable agony. Carefully, he wounded his injury inside the compacted space, making sure his elbow wouldn't bump onto the old, rusted metal to alert any attention. That is until he senses it, a familiar aura. Fragile, but it is there. Through the narrow slit which allows him to look through from the inside, a shadow came to view. Soon the figure itself is welcomed into his perspective.” What the. . .” He mumbles, sharpening his gasp. A lone child creeps themselves into the room with their tiny hands grasping onto the straps of their school bag. No, not a young adult. But literally a fucking kid around 7-9 years old?
They are looking around, as if they are lost. Their puffy eyes indicate they have been crying. Right arm hugging a plushie and its fluffy head are damped with their tears and snot. Jake attentively unlocked the locker after seeing there was no threat. Alert of the sound, the child whisk it head toward the source.” Hey kid.” He gently initiates, only to be met by a retrieving child that is inching toward the entrance where they come in from.” I won't hurt you. I'm not a bad person.” He assured and consciously took a step forward, making sure to keep an eye for the killer nearby.” I'm Jake Park. What's your name kid?”
Hesitation lurks on their face, combining with fear.” M-mommy said not to talk to strangers.” Well, at least they got that real life lesson right. Jake is not a right person to deal with kids and to be honest, he has no clue how to interact with them to begin with. Then, the quicken heartbeat indicated the killer is near and Jake inwardly cusses.” Okay kid, I know that you are not supposed to talk with strangers, but it is really dangerous here.” He looked toward the closed entrance where stomping is nearing their area. Come on, Jake! Think!” He examined his surroundings in panic. He hasn't felt the adrenaline pumping so fast since his first time entered the trial. Unable to protect his own life, now there's a child intruded the realm which they shouldn't be.
Then his attention focuses on the locker he once hid in and an idea immediately pops into his brain.” Okay kid, why don't we play hide and seek? You hide in the locker and make sure to close your ears, and eyes, okay? If you hear anything, do not ever come out or else a big bad monster will come get you. Understand?” He quickly said, but does not explain in detail of how the rules apply here, considering it will be complicated for their small minds. The responsibility of protecting a child is his first priority now.” Big bad monster?” Certainly the child hasn't trusted him yet and is confused with everything.” Yes, you will lose if you get caught. And you don't want that, do you?” Jake can't bring himself to say that they will get hurt or die.
The child nodded and Jake seized this opportunity to guide him inside the locker. Before he shuts the door, the child speaks up.” T-then, where is Jake going?” The child hugged their plushie tighter, set of doe eyes meeting his. A bang of guilt wash over Jake as he contemplates what is the right answer. He doesn't know if he will get hooked or luckily survive.” Will Jake come back?” His heart throbs at their sad tonal that is threatening to cry.” I will.” Smiling softly as the last act of assurances. Jake extended his right hand, petting their soft locks,” Be a good girl/boy and wait here.” With that being said, Jake reluctantly shut the locker and immediately dash toward the door.
Just as he expected, Pyramid Head is a few feet away, dragging his inhumanly large sword toward his direction.” Over here, Doritos!” He yelled, purposely adding insult to get his full attention and get him away from this part of the map. He needed to stall time at least and round him as far as the map could go. He can't let the monster see the child or else he can't imagine their fate.
After attaching the third victim onto the hook, Pyramid Head pursue to search for the last survivor as an offering for the Entity.” Argh! Come back here, Doritos! We are not done–nngh–yet! Fuck!” Jake cursed and already knew his fate would be short. His mind flashes an image of the (H/C)-haired child and is concern over their well-being instead of feeling soreness on his shoulder. Even though he doesn't know the child for long, he could sense a dread of failure for being unable to protect a kid. He is an adult for freak sake.
Pyramid Head did not idle any longer as he sauntered into the path that would eventually lead him to the fourth survivor, thus ending the trial and obtaining his reward. Departing from the hooking room, Pyramid Head set his target straight. Turning from corners to corners while pulling the weight of his weapon without beating a sweat. No generator activation sound. As if Pyramid Head is a sole existence in this area. Searching all over the map over and over again, still sensing no presence. Odd. . .
Frustrated at the empty discovery, only to be wasting his time. But his task is to offer his god’s fulfillment, so he can't quit. Momentarily, he heard it. Tiny, patty footsteps approaching from behind. Supporting his wielded knife in one hand as he prepare to strike after twirling around to face–
A miniature human.
“. . . . .”
Pair of (E/C) irises ascended, meeting his blood-stained mask. His half-lifted weapon was stuck in its position, including his whole posture which forgot how to breathe.” W-where is Jake?” The toddler courageously ask, yet their body is shrinking due to Pyramid Head’s intimidating figure. The Executioner did not respond for a moment as his brain could not process that his target is a little child who is barely ten. Unlike those adult-teen where many survivors are either 18 or above. But isn't this human way too young to be here? The killer even forgot his own mission. For the first time in life, Pyramid Head dropped his Great Knife due to stun.
