You could feel the blood leak quickly, hands drenched in the warmth of the liquid and unknown organs and tissues your hands couldn’t identify through texture, as your face quickly went cold; your rapid nosebleed did nothing to help the situation.

‘NO!’
Then that familiar voice, with the soothing southern drawl faded into the background and swirled in with the loud shots that clanged in your ears. The shouting, footsteps, screams, all that noise faded into one loud ringing in your ears, breathing rapidly slowing, barely there, a struggle for your lungs to keep pulling in air, familiar tightness in your chest.
Your eyelids fluttered closed, an overwhelming sense of euphoria filled you, you barely felt the cowboys hands hug you tightly, or the tears that quickly fell upon your numb skin.
Your tiredness took control; you needed to live, you needed to continue, for him - but surely a little sleep couldn’t hurt, right? You’d wake up soon, of course, just a tiny bit of shut eye so you would wake up nice and strong.
And just like that, everything ended. Not just for you but for him as well.
