Chapter Text
Sorellina’s Restaurant, Seoul.
“Did you like the place? I saw on your Facebook profile that you like pasta and this restaurant is one of the best”, Joshua said putting down the menu seeing the surprised look of the woman in front of him, “I hope you don't mind, but I asked our drink before you arrived, your favorite wine”, He picked up the bottle and carefully poured the drink into the two glasses on the table, “I would have placed your order too, but I was in doubt.”
“Wow...”
“Oh! I was almost forgetting”, Joshua took the white rose that he had hidden under the table, “I brought this for you. They say that we always have to please what belongs to us and nothing more symbolic than a small gesture”, He extended the rose for the woman who took it a little uncertainly. Joshua grinned and lifted his glass, “I'd like to make a toast first of all. A toast to happiness and especially to the love that takes us by surprise. A toast to relationships.”
“To first dates” The woman corrected uncomfortably and looked around, “Will you excuse me for a minute?”
“Of course, make yourself comfortable”, Joshua replied as he watched the woman get up and hurriedly walk to the bathroom.
Joshua sighed and took out his cell phone, dialing the number he was more familiar with. He waited patiently and glanced at his wristwatch, shaking his head to see that at this hour on a Friday his best friend would probably be busy, but he would pick up.
Charles River Motel, Seul.
“Yes, fuck me hard!”, The brunette said between moans, which made Jeonghan smile and deliver a loud slap to her ass before starting to thrust harder, “Yes! Yes! Yes!”
“Oh fuck!”, Jeonghan threw his head back to brush the hair out of his face, squeezing the woman's waist tighter as he felt his own orgasm build, “Fuck I'm coming!”
The woman's moans continued even when Jeonghan came out of her, taking off the condom and masturbating until he came on her back. He still felt a little shaky from his orgasm, but he still held the brunette's waist in place and sucked on two fingers before thrusting inside her, smiling in satisfaction as she bit into the pillow to stifle the loud groan she let out with the quick thrusts that Jeonghan's fingers made inside of her.
“Damn it!”, Jeonghan grumbled as he heard his cell phone ring on the nightstand beside the bed. He craned his neck to see who it was while still moving his fingers inside the girl who was on all fours in front of him. Jeonghan felt like laughing when he read Joshua's name, as he knew very well why he was calling, “Come quickly, girl!”
Jeonghan began to curl his fingers steadily, listening to the loud groans of the woman he couldn't even remember the name of. It didn't take long for the brunette to start shaking and throw herself on the bed panting with the orgasm she had. Jeonghan quickly wiped his fingers on the bed sheet and took out his cell phone, accepting the call.
“Hi Joshuji.”
“Hi Hannie. Do I bother you?”, Joshua asked in his usual soft tone.
“No, I'm done here already”, Jeonghan said taking a deep breath and looking at the woman still panting behind him, “Your date must suck for you to be calling me.”
“Hey! Irene just went to the bathroom!”, Joshua replied and Jeonghan shook his head with an amused smile, “She's a great company and we're doing well here.”
“Really? And how's the date going?”, Jeonghan asked mockingly.
“Great! We're communicating and talking non-stop, you know?”, Joshua replied and Jeonghan crossed his arms, biting his lip to keep from laughing, “She's beautiful and very smart, you know people like that attract me.”
“Oh I know! Of course I know”, Jeonghan replied tucking a strand of hair behind his ear and heard a pause. At the restaurant Joshua looked at the bathroom door that was next to the exit and fell silent as he saw his date pass quickly and leave the restaurant, which made him sigh, “She left, didn't she?”
“Yes, and she didn't even look at our table before she left”, Joshua huffed and Jeonghan ended up laughing, “Do you want to come? There's still time to order dessert.”
“Send me the address and I'll be there in twenty minutes.”
“Alright, I'll be waiting for you. Bye Hannie.”
“Bye Shua”, Jeonghan hung up and stood up, starting to look for his clothes.
“Are you leaving already?”, The woman asked staring at Jeonghan intently.
“I have a more important thing to do”, Jeonghan tied his hair in a ponytail and buttoned his pants, staring back at the woman.
“Are you even going to call me?”
Jeonghan knitted his brows and put on his shirt anyway, grabbing his sneakers, car keys and cell phone before cracking an innocent smile.
“No, sorry. But it was fun!”
Jeonghan waved and left the room, slipping on his sneakers halfway as he could. As soon as he got in the elevator he took out his cell phone to see Joshua's message and ended up laughing at the drama he was making. He was always like that with a failed date and Jeonghan knew very well how to make him happy again.
Back to Sorellina’s Restaurant, Seoul.
“I can't believe you reserved this restaurant for Miss 'beautiful and smart'“, Jeonghan joked as he reached the table where Joshua was sitting. He came closer leaving a lingering kiss on his forehead, as he always did.
“And I can't believe you didn't even take a shower!”, Joshua grimaced and heard his friend chuckle.
“If I stayed five more minutes in that room, I'd have to call her.”
“No, you wouldn't.”
“I know, I just wanted to get out of there”, Jeonghan shrugged, sitting up and smiling as he saw his favorite dessert on his plate, “I love it when you make my orders. Save me from...”
“From wasting saliva and oxygen, I know,” Joshua replied, waving his fork into his dessert unwillingly, “At least you don't think it's weird.”
“Oh no, I think it's super weird,” Jeonghan said with his mouth full earning a scolding look from the younger one, “But I like weird things.”
“You're an asshole,” Joshua grumbled listening to the long haired boy's amused laugh in front of him.
“Sorry, Shua. I'm just trying to distract you”, Jeonghan shifted in his chair and looked at his best friend intently, “You can start, I'll listen.”
“I give up!”, Joshua exclaimed and Jeonghan shook his head already waiting for the outburst of time as he ate his dessert, “I'm really going to give up and become a priest.”
“You're not going to become a priest just because a date didn't work out, Joshua”, Jeonghan rolled his eyes.
“One more date, you mean.”
“Seriously, Shua. You're twenty years old!”, Jeonghan said obviously eating some more of his dessert, “You have your whole life to find a wife or a husband.”
“I want to get married before I'm thirty-five, Jeonghan!”, Jeonghan replied raising his eyebrows, “And considering my history in dating and relationships so far I'm going to die alone!”
“And becoming a priest is your solution?”
“Yes, at least I would have God as a companion to complain about my dull and boring life”, Joshua replied sulky and Jeonghan laughed, which made him end up laughing too, “Okay, that was ridiculous.”
“I'm glad you know that”, Jeonghan said, stopping laughing and shifting in his chair, “Look, it can't be that bad. I mean, you're nice and funny, and I'm not even going to talk about your beauty. It's just that... The people you hang out with are too dumb to enjoy it.”
“I know that. Why do you think I call you every time it's over?”
“Because I'm your best friend and the only one who can handle your dramas.”
“I hate you”, Joshua crossed his arms and Jeonghan smiled, setting his fork beside his plate and leaning his arms on the table.
“Okay, let's do it this way. Since you're so desperate, and I'm such a wonderful friend, I'm going to propose something.”
“Here comes the shit”, Joshua sighed, resting his face in his hand.
“No! It's pretty serious and you'll like it.”
“Okay, go ahead.”
“If in ten years you can't get a real relationship and we're both single, I'll marry you.”
Jeonghan proposed and Joshua stared into his best friend's eyes trying to find any trace of joke or mockery, but found nothing. Which was weird coming from Yoon Jeonghan.
“Are you serious?”, Joshua asked narrowing his eyes suspiciously.
“I've never been so serious.”
“What is it, are you going to be my 'backup plan'?”
“If you want to call it that, that's fine with me”, Jeonghan shrugged and Joshua thought for a few minutes.
“Then let's document this”, Joshua said taking the pen out of his shirt pocket and Jeonghan rolled his eyes, taking a paper napkin and handing it to the younger one, “No going back, Jeonghan.”
“I don't break my promises, Shua. You know that”, Jeonghan shrugged, going back to eating as Joshua wrote a contract on his napkin, “God, you really are writing.”
“Of course I am”, Joshua smiled as he signed the paper and handed it to his friend who started laughing when he read the napkin, “You can sign.”
“Whatever you want”, Jeonghan joked, signing in the corner of the paper and returning the pen, “Oh! I almost forgot.”
“What's it?”
“I brought you a present.”
“But my birthday is still a month away.”
“I know, it's just a pre-birthday present”, Jeonghan smiled and handed over the small package, “Open it! I want to see the tears come down.”
“God...”, Joshua opened the package and smiled when he saw a picture frame with a picture of the two of them. Jeonghan knew how much he loved that picture and was sure he could get a wide and sincere smile from the younger one, “Hannie...”
“I got the most beautiful smile of the night”, Jeonghan said, amused seeing his best friend's eyes teary, “Irene could never!”
Joshua started to laugh and reached across the table to hold Jeonghan's hand, stroking it as a thank you. He couldn't say what he had done so well to have found Jeonghan, but he would be eternally grateful for that.
“I, Hong Jisoo, hereby declare that if in ten years from November 10, I cannot find a woman or man worth marrying, I will accept Yoon Jeonghan as my husband for life.”
