After Talia dropped off Damian, Bruce didn’t want any more surprise kids.
That sounds cruel but it hit him hard when he found out about Damian. He missed so much of his life and now here was an emotionally stunted 10 year old. If he had known about Damian he would have taken him sooner. He wouldn’t have let him be raised as an assassin. He would have tried, to the best of his ability, to give him a normal childhood. He had no control over how his adopted children were raised, but he’d be damned if the same went for his biological children.
Wayne Enterprise created a nanobot that descretly and harmlessly collected DNA samples. The device was no bigger than a fruit fly. It would go into your system for an hour collecting any and all forms of DNA: hair, blood, urine, etc. After an hour or two it would leave the system via breath. It took one years to make a device, and two years to allow said device to go into all nations. It was presented as a device that would help provide and validate evidence. Suddenly all government systems would have access to DNA samples for assaults, break-in’s, kidnappings, and so on . The only reason it took so long to be approved by most governments was because they needed to create new laws surrounding nanotechnology.
Of course making the world a slightly safer and just place was not Bruce’s only intent for this technology. Unbeknownst to any and all law enforcement he programmed the nanobots to alert him of any DNA matching his.
After three years of creating and dispersing the technology around the world, it only took one week for all the results to pop up on the computer in the bat-cave. It showed two DNA matches: Damien’s and a young girl in Paris,France.
