Summary
LeClaire’s hand is still on his shoulder, and Ilya knows that it doesn’t look like anything. A coach speaking to one of his players. LeClaire’s heat seeps through his suit jacket, and his breath is a warm, damp wash of air against Ilya’s ear.
“They’ve finished up with the awards,” he murmurs. “You look like you’re ready to get out of here.”
Ilya nods tightly and sets his drink down on the table.
OR:
Gregori Rozanov was bad in many ways, but Coach LeClaire might have him beat.
Shane Hollander has something to say about that. It turns out a lot of people do.

Summary
The man in front of him pulls Jinu forward and whispers into his ear.
“I’ve been dreaming of the day I get one of you in my lab for years. And with a pretty little songbird like you? Just imagine all the fun we can have.” The man leans back, studying Jinu’s face with a look that made him feel like an animal in a zoo.
“Look at those patterns,” he breathes, trailing a thumb under Jinu’s eye and down his cheek. “Beautiful.”
Jinu feels nausea crawl up his throat and tries to jerk out of the hold the hunter has on him, but it’s a little hard to control his movements at the moment and the hand is painfully tight. Panicking, he tries to teleport away, but nothing happens.

„Minyard! Get your ass up and put some armor on! Abby, Greene, get the infirmary in shape, border control just spotted a motherfucking Drakon in the woods!“
As if Wymack’s order triggered it, a ear grating screech echoes all the way to the big house.
The camp counselor curses.
„Move it people, there are half-bloods out there that need to get to safety!“
Or, for two and a half years, Aaron has been grieving the brother he buried, only to learn now, that Andrew is very much alive. He also has a scarred little shithead in tow, that Aaron wants to punch in the face regularily. Life is fun like that.

Summary
The week before the 2017 All-Star Game, Ilya Rozanov is placed on IR. Ten days later, he disappears from the league entirely. Boston says nothing, and for once, a notoriously fickle league closes ranks.
Every attempt Shane makes to find him hits a wall. In one last desperate, life-altering bid to reach him, Shane comes out to the world, only to be met with Ilya’s silence.
By the time the 2020/21 season begins, Shane has nothing left but hockey and regret. He builds a dynasty, guts his life, and pins the last scraps of his hope on the Metros’ newest transfer, the dangerously hot-headed Cliff Marlow.
Stepping back into the public eye after the worst three years of his life, all Ilya wants is to find some kind of purpose. Shane is done with him, he made that much clear. Ilya isn't about to try to convince himself otherwise. He just wants to prove he still has some use left in him.
Fortunately for both of them, they're still fucking stupid for each other.

Summary
A Rozanov like Grigori or Alexei commands attention. Inspires respect. Shows competency and strength in the face of adversity. Doesn’t shy away from agressivity or ambition or ruthlessness.
On the ice, Ilya manages to attain that ideal. Off it, not so much.
“Но тут я слышу о скандале в Америке,” (“But then, I hear about a scandal in America,”) continues Grigori in a measured tone. Deliberately casual. “О вас.” (“About you.”)
Ilya juts his chin stubbornly, holding his head as high as his father’s. He can’t show shame. He can’t broadcast such weakness when it’s exactly what Grigori expects of him. But no matter how hard Ilya tries, the man smells it like a shark smells blood, and his teeth always find their mark.***
Ilya gets caught in a twisted relationship with one of the Boston Raiders' assistant coaches right after immigrating from Russia at 18 years old. This delays, complicates and somehow simplifies his future relationship with Shane Hollander.
