Everything between them is perfect. They spend as much time as they can together. They go to the movies, on expensive dates to restaurants (Kim’s doing), to amusement park (Chay’s doing), they play guitar together and write songs, they sing and they laugh. Porchay doesn’t remember the last time he was this happy, but…
Yeah, there is a but. Nothing between them ever happens apart from quick hugs and soft kisses on the cheeks. Well, he once kissed Kim on the mouth; quick and awkward and the man looked surprised, but smiled at him happily. And Chay wanted for it to happen again, he initiated the first one and he wanted Kim to take the lead, but the other man hasn’t kissed him at all since that moment and it was a week ago.

Summary
Sometime after the food is gone and the iced teas have been refilled, Kim realizes he’s just listening to Porsche tell stories and Porchay talk about music. He's not thinking about how to turn the conversation to his advantage.
They don’t seem to mind that he’s quiet, or that his additions to the conversation are stilted, censoring everything he can’t say about himself and his life. They don’t push him when he evades personal questions. They fill his awkward silences with jokes and banter with each other. They listen whenever he finds something to say.
He can’t tell whether he’s pretending to be Wik or pretending to be Kim, or something else entirely.
It’s…nice.
