Summary
Lingering felt like giving up, felt like she was twenty two looking back at the house as she sat in her truck on the driveway. Maybe it's why she doesn't ignore the barely audible sound of a nervous, scared voice to her right. Maybe it's why her feet move without thinking.
It's tucked into the far corner of a shelf, either the first or last one in the row, and unlike most of the other orbs showing where previous adventures had taken place, this was simply at the big top. Right at the stage.
And someone very familiar was moving in it.
Ragatha finds an orb holding the memory of her first day at the circus.

Kinger huffs. "Well, uh. That's odd of you to say. I'm right here."
I wondered how stupid sauced Ragatha and Kinger could've interacted, then this was born.

Summary
Her mouth is full of something. She swallows, unthinking, but it gradually fills up again. It takes her a few tries to realize it is blood. Her right eye is gushing blood.
Her mom is on the floor in the kitchen. Ragatha stares at her. Her mom’s face is scalded, brilliant red, and portions of it are already bubbling up with blisters. The jamming pot is dented on the floor, the glass jars smashed across the kitchen tile. The gas stove burns merrily away. A shard the length of Ragatha’s pinky finger protrudes from her mom’s throat. She is unmoving. She looks a little like a mannequin.
My mom is dead, Ragatha thinks, vaguely. It is not particularly believable. My mom is waiting, she thinks, and that seems more fitting.
Ragatha loses an eye. She has a couple of bigger problems.
