He must be an awful sight, tired, bruised, barely seeing eyes. He might even look worse than Twilight, who can currently only move one leg.
"Hey, are you sure you know where you're going?"
"Don't doubt me," Warriors replies.
Twilight attempts a shrug. "Been a while."

“What’s Belos, uh," Luz pauses. "Like." she finishes, the word pushed out with an unceremonious thud.
Hunter sits across from her. You've met him, he writes.
”I, well— I wanted to ask you a couple questions before — you know — but we got a little sidetracked," she takes a couple hour-long seconds to deliberate, "so, I’m asking you now.”
Hunter takes a few minutes to write and erase words. He considers ignoring the question outright, but, well...
He’s sympathetic, almost in a mean way, like whoever made him is out to get you. Maybe it’s his face. Or his voice. Whatever it is, he makes you make a fool of yourself. He makes you, he pauses, not knowing quite what to write. He erases the beginning of the sentence. You'll forgive him. Everyone does.
Luz purses her lips.
Then again, he killed me. So I don't really know anything.
Hunter dies in Hollow Mind, becomes a ghost, and haunts Luz Noceda. The effects are more consequential than anyone would prefer.

It’s three AM. One week ago, Jason (no last name available) hitched a ride with Leo Valdez and Piper McLean in a stolen (borrowed, from Piper, and acquired, from Leo) 2004 Subaru Crosstrek and has driven with them since from Nevada’s very own Wilderness School all the way to Long Island, where Leo claims a “a last-resort safe place” is.
It started with angry Greek winds attacking them on a field trip. It’s continuing with Leo hitting whatever a dryad is with a car.
Jason can pick up a slight shake in her voice when Piper asks, “On a scale of one to ten, how bad will your divine punishment be?”

Your body is lying somewhere, something that doesn’t feel fuzzy the way the dream bubbles did, and warm air hits your arms, which are bare. You’re not in your godtier clothes.
You open your eyes and find yourself in your bedroom.

Please read this fic. The motifs are skilled at punching In the gut and sometimes straight to the throat also. It is the most self-inflicted a tragedy could possibly be, and speaking of which - the wordplay! Hot damn the wordplay! Take a shot every time you read a pun in this fic. Take a shot every time you read this fic. Take a shot when you read this fic, you'll need it.
This and nothing more is what I need from Sanders Sides. It is a very tall order. And tonally different from the source material. But it is also the best anything will ever get.

Remus can’t decide what expression Roman is wearing under that stupid, silly mask, but he thinks he likes it anyway. Something like horror, something like despair, something like fear and self loathing and nausea that matches the face that’s been haunting him since four years ago in a gas station mirror after he threw himself in front of an eighteen wheeler upon realizing that Roman never cared about him at all.
“Remus,” Roman croaks out.
“I have a power,” Remus says. “I have always had a power. I ruined my own life by saving yours when we were eight years old, but that’s okay. I’m going to fucking fix it right now!”
He raises the gun barrel towards Roman again, steady and simple and confident, right at that bleeding heart of his that for some reason never bled for Remus.
