Summary
There was some part of him that knew, intrinsically, Iwaizumi would be there. It would have been uncharacteristic of him to change how he behaved, 18 years deep into knowing Oikawa. Even so, Oikawa felt the weight of the world lift off of his chest when he caught sight of Iwaizumi's silhouette on the swing-set.
After high school graduation, the feelings Oikawa had been running from catch up to him, and pester him until he does something about them.

"I think I've had enough of Oikawa Tooru in my life so far, thanks," Iwaizumi muttered, leaning into Oikawa's space to peck his cheek.
"I'll tell Aunty that you've been lying," Oikawa threatened. "I bet she'll take my side."
"You want to bet? Fine, I'll race you home," he said, dropping Oikawa's hand, and getting ready to run.
"Iwa-chan!" Oikawa called out, as Iwaizumi moved further and further away from him. "No fair, stop cheating!"
"Stop being slow then!" Iwaizumi yelled, turning to flash Oikawa a cheeky smile over his shoulder as ran.
Oikawa felt like he was floating, limbs warm, ready to burst. He squeezed the bouquet to his chest once, before thanking whatever gods were out there for looking after him, and took off after his best friend, laughter exploding from his lungs into the evening.

“We’ll work it out tomorrow,” Tooru said. He sneezed all of a sudden, and Jiji startled before clambering onto Hajime’s legs.
Hajime immediately passed him a tissue and set a hand on Jiji to stop her from jumping around and scratching through his clothes. “Did you get scared, pretty girl? Did Tooru scare you?”
“Sometimes, I think you like the cat more than you like me,” Tooru said under his breath. He wiped at his nose and threw the tissue on the table before stretching his arms out and dropping one across Hajime’s shoulders.
“Mm, jury’s out on that one,” Hajime said softly, leaning over to drop a kiss on top of Jiji’s head. He covered her ears and leaned towards Tooru. “Don’t tell her, but you’re my favourite.”
Tooru squeezed Hajime into his side and kissed his cheek. “Iwa-chan is my favourite, too.”
Hajime melted into Tooru, and closed his eyes. “Thanks,” he said, voice a whisper. He didn’t feel the need to say more than that, because Tooru would understand. Thanks: for making dinner, for taking care of me, for being my friend. Thanks: for being my partner.
“Anything for you, Hajime,” Tooru said. “Always, anything for you.”
