Cody continues speaking, Obi-Wan’s saber tapping against the centre of his chest as he walks. He’s moving closer, step by step, a thread drawn taut between them. Obi-Wan could be half a universe away and, step by step, Cody would move closer to him. “Are you missing anything, General?”“I’m missing the airing of ‘Mid-Centaxday Murders.” The casing gives way with a screech, Obi-Wan baring his teeth against the sound. It doesn’t just catch at his ears, the soft flesh of his gums, but the space behind his eyes, the base of his skull. Whatever it is, it wants to be left alone and forgotten about. “And I think I dropped my outer robe somewhere by a rather lovely crater a few klicks back.”

Summary
