Unless you wish to suggest something drastic, such as removing the (Technically impractical, but highly venerated) True Anointed Citadel, then your proposal is Dead in the water before it can begin.

Like sleep, like death, Five Pebbles wakes again. Except- under mysterious circumstances, he finds himself impossibly thrown into the past to the day of his instantiation, at the very beginning of it all. Eons before the series of tragedies that ruined his and his sister-iterator's lives, he wakes again forced into the fulcrum of fate, his every action threatening to spiral out into unimaginable consequences.
