“The coughing. Sure.” Kaveh swallows, then keeps talking like he didn’t just exhibit such an obvious nervous tell. “So, you’re sick. Is that any reason to upend your life? I understand needing to take the time to get better, but—”
“I am not going to get better. I am going to get worse, and then I am going to die,” Alhaitham says plainly.

“How about telling her you already have a girlfriend?” she suggested half-jokingly.Akihiko looked up. He was quiet for a beat before a faint, almost playful smile tugged at the corner of his mouth.
“If she presses me to prove it,” he said, “maybe I'll have you play that part for me, haha…” Akihiko joked, though he seemed to sincerely consider her suggestion.
Minako choked on a noodle. She immediately doubled over coughing, nearly knocking into the table in panic. Praying that a stray noodle wouldn't come out of her nose.
This story is based from a sunday date with Akihiko where he tells Minako he was confessed to by a girl and she won’t stop bothering him. I just wanted to create a cute fic out of that little scene and explore how they figure out their feelings for each other :)

UPDATE: I didn't like how I wrote chapter 3 before, so I updated the chapter and expanded more. I also moved the confrontation to the next chapter and added a bit more stuff
