“Do you want me to meet your kids?” Ed asks.
“Yes.” Stede says easily. “If you wouldn’t mind.”
“I wouldn't mind.” Ed says. “Be sure to tell me if I overstay my welcome, okay? It’s more important the kids are comfortable than it is that I meet them.”
“Oh, darling,” Stede leans over to kiss Ed gently, sweetly, “the kids will love you. Besides, I plan to have you here every second I can get you, so you’re part of what the kids have to get comfortable with anyway.”
