Summary
He can’t ask Gale for help. Gale might have the best chance of finding any sort of cure to his current undesirable condition, but he doesn’t want to turn to him. Something about being vulnerable and in need in front of Gale grates at Astarion’s mind.
He isn’t accustomed to anyone standing up for him like this, not without wanting something in return. And the thought that he could, just for once, lean into that—lean on him—sits uncomfortably close to tempting.

Summary
Gale, free of his curse and enjoying an evening with the dearest friends he's ever shared brain worms with, is beginning to suspect that Astarion is attempting to ask to drink his blood.
Given that the noxious sourness of Netherese magic no longer taints him, Gale understands the curiosity Astarion might have, and is quite willing to indulge it.
