    The shorter alpha, still gripping Johnny, began backing toward the street and dragging Johnny with him. He grabbed Johnny’s throat with a shaking hand. "Stay back, Spider-Man, or I'll—"

    He didn't finish the threat. A web line caught him square in the chest, and suddenly Johnny was falling as the alpha was yanked away. He hit the ground hard, the impact driving the air from his lungs. For a moment, the world went white.
