Vi slammed the empty birth control bottles onto the table. Both Cassandra and Caitlyn flinched, their hands moving to cover their flat stomachs.
"You told me you were taking the pills," Vi growled. "You lied to me."
Caitlyn looked down, her face red. "We did," she whispered. "We threw them out."
"Why?" Vi demanded, stepping closer. "Why would you trick me into getting you pregnant?"
Cassandra looked up, her usual political pride completely gone. "Because we wanted your babies, Vi," she admitted softly. "We wanted to be carrying your pups. We knew it was the only way to keep you tied to us forever."

Vi straightened, voice barely more than a wheeze. “Cori wasn’t at the school. I–I went to pick her up…The teachers…They didn’t know where she was.”
“What?” The lines of Caitlyn's brow deepened beneath the strap of her eyepatch. “What do you mean?”
“She’s gone."
