And if there's anyone in this wretched world who might be able to pull him back from the edge, it's probably you." He nudged Zanka with his elbow, a ghost of his earlier grin returning. "Besides, if he steps out of line, you can just kick his ass again. You've done it before. He enjoys it, though..."

Yuji could track them by sound, by the faint shift of air as Gojo passed, by the way his body instinctively turned slightly to follow the movement even though he could see nothing.
"Right now, I can see you, of course." The voice was behind him now, "But I also see every flicker of your cursed energy, every tiny fluctuation. I see the way your heart is racing." A soft chuckle from somewhere to his right. "I see the way your temperature has gone up. I see the blush spreading across your cheeks."

"This is your idea of fun?" Megumi's voice was a low, tight whisper, right next to Yuji's ear in the confined space.
"It's… it's kind of funny," Yuji wheezed, trying to keep his voice down. "Your face when she said it. Like you'd just been asked to exorcise a thousand grade-one curses at once or share a meal with Gojo Sensei ."
"My face is perfectly neutral," Megumi grumbled. He tried to shift, to find a sliver of space, to create any distance between them, but only succeeded in pressing his knee more firmly against Yuji's thigh. The contact sent a jolt through him that had nothing to do with static electricity or something similar "Stop moving. There's no room!"

Summary
Zanka occasionally wondered why he was the one who had to crash into Jabber, because Jabber was a bed of tidal pools stranding venomous creatures and jagged shells, flaying the soles of anyone staggering through him. It could have been anyone. The thought settled between his teeth, and he gritted them together wishing that he could bite down on a truth with enough force to shatter it in his molars.
In which Zanka volunteers for an extremely unpopular assignment in the East Ward for the seventh time straight, and gets caught in the rain.

“You can run Zan-Zan, but that just means Jabber will have to chase ya down!” A maniacal laugh echoed down the hall after the pair of cleaners, sending a shiver down Zanka’s spine. “Don’t forget what I told ya neither, no other fellas! Save them fights for jus’ me! You know what’ll happen if you don’ listen to me again!”
Jabber doesn't want his mans fighting other dudes and is willing to put a ring on it. And zanka was just gonna have to accept it

Jabber says nothing this time, but doesn’t tap out either. He is uncharacteristically silent. Zanka looks at him then, really looks. Even fucked up, Jabber is unfairly beautiful. Jabber flutters his long, long lashes at Zanka, gaze laser-focused on him as he swirls his own blood in his mouth. Then spits it out.
Right. Into. Zanka’s. Face.
“No.”
Zanka is on him like a wild dog before he can even finish the word.
Or; Zanka's got an itch and Jabber can scratch it. What else is there to say?
