For those curious minds that found this fic, but don’t ever upload their own, the reason you can have a fic from 1950 (s despite AO3 being released in 2007) is because you can backdate your fics and so I published this to see how it worked.
( I decided to keep this up for anyone else like me and so you don’t have to searching all of AO3s FAQ and various research and almost messaging AO3 about this.)

The Hail Mary has sent off its Beetles and Eva Stratt is the first to dissect them for the data within. If anything, she’s simply glad that Ryland Grace, as odd as he may seem at first glance, is thorough. His logs, both visual and written, go over everything in pretty good detail.

Summary
Ryland Grace doesn't understand why Stratt is so worried about letting him (i.e. forcing him to) speak at this UNESCO conference. Sure, the LAST time he did that wasn't exactly universally appreciated, but he'd been to hundreds of Eridian conferences since then. He's pretty sure he remembers how to present in English. The Public Speaking Extracurricular Thrum that his pebbles started would be so proud of him!

Thanks to Dr. Grace's scientific advancements both before and especially after his time travel, it would look suspicious if Stratt DIDN'T send him to the UNESCO conference to share his findings with the field. But that means letting him loose in the world for a few days. There are other people out there. Mein Gott, she can feel the headache forming already.
