"Yes," Ilya whispers. Squeezes his eyes shut. I love you, I love you, I love you. I love you so much I don't know what to do with myself.
"Whatever you're saying must be intense," Shane whispers, his eyes closed anyway like he's trying to hear it through all their layers of flesh and bone.
"Hm, maybe," Ilya says back just as quietly. "You will never know."
