Summary
Kaveh was doing good. Yes, really. That's what he told everyone at least. It made sense. Brilliant, only one month from completing his master's degree, loved by friends, and dating the man of his dreams-- everything pointed to him approaching the light at the end of a long, dark tunnel. Then why was he still so unhappy?

Summary
Alhaitham noticed immediately. “Is it spreading to your chest?”
Kaveh hesitated, then nodded. “Yes... but I can manage—”
“Do you need cream there as well?”
Kaveh looked away, suddenly flustered. He murmured, barely audible, “You... you wouldn’t be able to reach it properly. It’s not just the skin.”
Alhaitham paused, fingers still lightly resting on Kaveh’s shoulder. After a moment of silence, he spoke again.
“If itʼs not just the skin, then what is it that I cannot reach?”
The words hung in the air between them. Kaveh’s breath caught, his eyes widening as he stared at Alhaitham. The Scribe’s expression remained mostly neutral, but there was vulnerability in the way he held Kaveh’s gaze, like the question wasn’t entirely about the hives.
: The sun hates Kaveh, and Alhaitham offers him more than a shade.

Summary
“Which one suits me?” Kaveh asked suddenly, holding up two options. One was striking blue and gold Sumeru rose, the other was delicate cluster of white padisarah with faint golden veins.
Alhaitham’s eyes narrowed slightly. First clothes, now flowers. The surprise from earlier was starting to shift into something closer to suspicion.
He crossed his arms. “Are you planning to get married or something?”
Kaveh nearly dropped the flowers. He spun around, eyes wide, then burst into laughter. His laugh was bright, unrestrained, and loud enough to draw a curious glance from the shopkeeper.
“Married? Really?” Kaveh set the blooms down and wiped at the corner of his eye. “Just because we went to a tailor shop and now a flower shop back-to-back, you think I’m planning a wedding? What kind of logic is that, Scribe?”

When Kaveh does things differently, Alhaitham is bound to feel suspicious. What is this man hiding this time?

Summary
Two years after the virus reached Sumeru, its citizens have been cornered between sandstorms and hordes of undead husks in the last sanctuary, Pardis Dhyai. Finding supplies for the people requires careful treks to former settlements, as one could be caught by either threat. When Kaveh, Alhaitham, and Tighnari converge on old ruins, they run into a group of husks.
Kaveh is bitten.
