The raucous laughter at the counter died instantly as the stranger froze mid-motion, his mug remaining hovering an inch above the wood while the entire room seemed to lose its collective breath.
Two massive vivid crimson eyes, reflective like polished gemstones, turned to fix Katsuki with an intensity that should have been terrifying, but the silence lasted for only a moment before the creature's lips split into a wide grin that revealed rows of sharp, triangular teeth.
"And you're a pretty human."
— or the one where katsuki moves to a remote fishing village to research mermaid folklore for his book, only to realize the stories are real when eijirou becomes the first mermaid he ever meets.

The bell above the door jingled loud enough to make Bakugo look up from his client, irritation already sharp on his face before he even saw who walked in. Cold air swept through the shop alongside a tall man carrying a takeout bag in one hand. Half-red, half-white hair. Expensive coat. Probably lost.
"Touya," the guy called flatly, eyes scanning the shop.
From the piercing room, Touya barked back, "Kitchen counter, pretty boy."
Bakugo snorted quietly and went back to wiping excess ink from his client's arm-until the stranger stepped closer. Then everything in him went painfully still.
Alpha.
Not just alpha.
Mate.
The realization hit hard enough to make his stomach twist. Bakugo's grip tightened around the paper towel as the stranger froze too, mismatched eyes locking onto him with startled intensity.
For a second, the buzzing tattoo machines, the music overhead, the conversations around them all disappeared.
"Oh," the stranger said softly.
Bakugo immediately scowled. "Don't start."

Katsuki stilled at that, hovering awkwardly over the chair for a second before he responded, voice softer than Shouto had thought him capable of, "Because maybe when I look at you all I see is that day at the park, when we didn't know we were supposed to hate each other."
Or: Todoroki Shouto, son of renowned vampire hunter and extremist Todorki Enji, gets turned into a vampire. Katsuki, son of a renowned family of vampires and a childhood memory, comes to his rescue.
This is really just a self-indulgent vampire au, with some drama to accentuate the romance.
