Summary
Watching Tony’s retreating figure, one arm slung around Peter, the other around Natsuko, Steve felt a small smile slip onto his face. Things were by no means perfect — the guilt of the past still hung heavily on Steve, like storm clouds hanging on the horizon, threatening to ruin what might otherwise be a beautiful day —, but for the first time since their fight, for the first time in three long years, there was hope shining on the horizon; hope for freedom, hope for forgiveness.

Tony, after calling on Steve and the others in an act of desperation, slowly begins to mend what had been broken, while Steve learns that there is more to Tony than he had ever imagined, and that somehow these two kids had wormed their way into Tony’s heart in a way that none of the rest of them had ever managed.

Summary
As Rhodey watched the kids interact with Tony — Peter in his loud, excited puppy way, Natsuko with small smiles and quiet giggles —, he felt sure, for the first time since Siberia, that Tony was going to be okay. When he looked at Tony with Peter and Natsuko, Rhodey no longer was a man mourning the loss of his friends, his family, but instead he saw a man who had found his place in the world, his purpose in life.

Summary
It was like stepping into another world. The small courtyard shimmered under the steadily falling snow, the dark color of the tree trunks standing out sharply against the white snow. Even the city was calm, the snow shrouding it like a blanket, dampening its usual bustling energy to an eerie silence.
The two walked out of the elevator together, and as Peter watched Natsuko’s expression of wonder as she turned in a circle, her arms thrown out, the snowflakes swirling around her, he was filled by a single thought: this is home.

Or how Peter discovers that sometimes the best friends are found in the least expected places.

Summary
It took the barest glance at his surroundings to figure out that he wasn’t in the vents anymore, but in a dingy alley. He had been sitting right next to a trash can, which explained the smell that was just now washing over him. The walls were plastered with black and white, peeling posters advertising local nightclubs and shops- none of which, upon his first glance through, he recognized. One of them, which advertised a place called Samuel's, declared a MIDNIGHT SHOW- Every Saturday- 25 cents a ticket.
25 cents. A ticket.
Triple futz.
It didn’t take Tony Stark to figure out where Clint was. Or, actually, when he was. Which was definitely not any time in the past thirty years at least. Twenty five cents. Jesus christ.
Clint slumped against the wall, raking his hands through his hair. “Aww, time travel, no,” he muttered, entirely to himself. He had been having such a good day too. Completely incident free. Except that he had accidentally knocked over Bucky’s coffee this morning in the communal kitchen and fled instantly. But he wasn’t ready to deal with the mortifying ordeal of thinking about that yet.

Summary
They don’t talk about it.
Bucky thinks they should, probably. But they don’t. It’s like all the other encounters, and by the next time Bucky sees him, Clint is back to his usual self. He cracks jokes, teases Steve, steals Nat’s coffee mug out of her hand and takes a dramatic slurp. If it wasn’t for the fading bruises and the still-healing wounds, Bucky would have no clue that Clint spent an hour crying into his arms outside a dumpster.

Summary
The first time Clint gets assassinated by the Winter Soldier, he doesn't see it coming, which is quite a testament to the guy's skills. Clint dies all the time, but usually he's aware that it's happening. It's been decades since anyone caught him off-guard like this.
"Coward!" he yells down the dark alley he was ambushed from, as soon as his larynx is healed enough to function. "Get back here and murder me to my face!"
