Summary
Connor has made it his mission to integrate himself harmoniously with his human colleagues now that he's returned to the DPD. After all, a good work environment only helps increase productivity and foster bonds.
His only hang-up thus far has been the notoriously unpleasant and difficult-to-work-with Gavin Reed. But after a surprisingly civil conversation he overhears between the man and Captain Fowler, he thinks he might finally have a plan to move ahead with him. It should be a simple equation.
...Right?
Or, the one where Gavin has an undiagnosed praise kink and Connor somehow Pavlov's him into accepting happiness into his life. And maybe into his own, too.

Summary
Gavin leaned forward on his arms, his frown deepening. “Well, what else are friends for? You clearly don’t seem to think it’s fucked up how they use you like a fuckin’ ‘droid or something. You’re a person, Connor. You’ve got rights.”
Connor stiffened, biting down on his bottom lip. His stress levels ticked higher, a warning light flashing in the corner of his vision. There was a lot to process. A lot he didn’t want to process. He focused on the easiest part to digest, and echoed, “Friends?”
Gavin raised a brow. “I dunno what else you’d call this,” he said, gesturing between the two of them. “It’s not like I come here just because you make a decent cup of coffee.”
Set prior to the events of the game. Connor deviated two years early and has been surviving best he can by pretending to be human. He meets Detective Reed, a caffeine addict who always makes it a point to come by his coffee shop every morning for his daily latte, and, as it turns out, something more.

“I-I just think they suit you.” Connor stammered, feeling slightly embarrassed by where his thoughts were heading. “You should wear them more often.”
Gavin took a long drag from his cigarette before a smile crept onto his face. Something about it made Connor’s heart skip a beat as Gavin dropped the cigarette and stubbed it out with his shoe.
“If they’re what gets you so riled up, maybe I will.”

The first lesson every new beat cop, patrol officer, hell even police assistant android learned when starting out at the DPD was clear, so simple and yet... unusual to someone who has never spend a day in their life in said precinct.
