Summary
"What do you want for your reward?”
Stede’s throat closes up, his mouth goes dry. Everything grinds to a halt as he meets Izzy’s eyes, sees a hunger there he never expected another person could feel for him. Izzy’s fingers tremble when they meet Stede’s skin again, drawing him closer, and Stede’s knees almost give from under himself when he realises Izzy is holding back.
“My reward?”
Izzy hums, fisting his hands in the front of Stede’s shirt, drawing him down to Izzy’s eye level.
“What do you want, Stede?”

"I...love you." He admits, his voice quiet, his cheeks burning. The words are easier to say than he thought they'd be, and better yet, they don't hurt. They don't sting. They don't taste like acid or blood or a raw toe to the molars.
