When Apo gets home, Pyro is sprawled across their couch like some kind of dramatic sickly victorian maiden.
She suppresses the sigh that immediately tries to escape their throat and settles for an internal one—it'll be a long night. Pyro is staring intently at the ceiling, chewing on their lip, as if he is considering the dust that has built up and accumulated itself all gross-like over the last twenty something years that this decrepit apartment has stood.
No, seriously. Apo's pretty sure that no one has dusted this roof since it was built.

Apo's roommate, Pyro, is both a mess about his crush and a mess about his new instincts. Apo, as his sire, can't have that.

Summary
By the end of the final speeches, Clove gets back on the train with Brutus.
Katniss stays.
Clove goes.
And whether Clove likes it or not, whether she’ll ever admit it, some sinew of her heart digs itself into the train station in Twelve the last time that she and Katniss kiss at the platform and Katniss’ hand cups itself around the back of her neck, fingers entwining in the curls at the nape of Clove’s neck, perfectly soft thanks to her stylists’ work.
It’s a terrifying thought. She’s supposed to hate Katniss. Katniss killed Cato like a dog.
Katniss is supposed to hate Clove, because instead of Katniss getting to go home with her perfect baker’s boy, she’s been stuck with a knife-edged girl.
And yet, as the train pulls away, Clove stares out the window and wonders when exactly she dug a knife into her own heart and bled out enough to stain the Girl on Fire’s feet.
(When Clove survives the Hunger Games because of a "star-crossed lovers" story, she has to find a way to stitch herself back together while still playing the part of a doting lover to the nation- and finding a way not to confuse her feelings for Katniss in the process.)
