They found Batman on a rooftop in the Bowery, staring at the sky as if waiting for the Bat-Signal, silent, without Robin or Batgirl nearby.
You ruin everything you touch. You're cursed, Bruce, and if I don't do something, you'll bury more Robins for your crusade .
He'd said those words, hadn't he? He'd been so blinded by rage that he didn't care about the pain he was causing—and he'd thought, what right did Bruce have to be hurt? It was his fault, he had to pay—that he didn't think about the consequences.
Damian wasn't the type to be pushed aside, not even when his father asked him to. But maybe there wasn't much choice, especially if the CPS had already been involved by Oliver…
“Batman…”
Diana was the one who approached Batman first, her lasso glowing in her hand. “We are sorry.”
A long pause. Then a dry, guttural sound escaped the Bat. A cruel chuckle, so full of rage it was waiting to spill out like a raging river.
"Is that all? After all the shit you threw at him, you're coming after him with your tail between your legs?," the Bat said, angry and Clark's eyes widened.
That wasn’t Bruce.

Keith seemed on the verge of saying something. Too bad Romelle and Allura arrived at that moment, Pidge behind them, and stared at them with their mouths open.
With Lance half-naked and both wet, they certainly offered a singular sight, and easily misunderstood since Lance was, well, a son of Aphrodite. And everyone knew who he was coming to the lake with.
"Give me five drachmas," Pidge stretched out her hand to Allura, "You didn't foresee that!"
(Keith is a new camper at Camp Half-Blood, and has no intention of staying. Too bad for him that every time he tries to escape, Lance is always the one who manages to find him.)

"Look, if you were expecting a big party, you were wrong. Just open this damn gifts," Jason blurted out, getting glares from everyone else.
Nice way to apologize, Jason! They were wrong, for once!
Bruce, however, remained unruffled. He was too familiar with Jason's bullshit, "I wasn't expecting anything…”
"Well, then open these…”
"Because I haven't celebrated my birthday in years."
(Dick tries to celebrate Bruce's birthday after his return from the time stream. It didn't go as he wanted.)

She had to pull away, unable to bear the pain she was causing one of the best person she'd ever known.
"I don't even know if I love you," she admitted, feeling an unpleasant sourness in her stomach, "Maybe I never did."
